`Future is not in IT alone'

IT COMES straight from a top scientist who has won acclaim here and overseas.

According to former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation U.R. Rao, information technology is not the only future for the younger generation.

The country also needs scientists, economists and historians, Prof. Rao said at an event held to felicitate him. Agricultural science may be another field of opportunity, he said, pointing out the fact the country again had to import foodgrains.

Research in biotechnology could help in overcoming the looming food shortage crisis, he said.
