Chain snatched

Two men, riding a motorcycle, snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 40,000 from Geetha Ramesh in Thyagarajanagar police station limits on Wednesday night. The police said the incident occurred around 7.45 p.m. at 9th Cross, Bovi Colony, while Geetha was walking towards her R.K. Block house from a beauty parlour. The Thyagarajanagar police have registered a case.

Ward panel meeting

The monthly Basavanagudi Ward Committee meeting will be held at the office of Assistant Executive Engineer, Bull Temple Road, on Friday, at 10 a.m.

Cataract operation

Free training

Canara Bank Self-Employment Training Institute for Rural Women, Harohalli, Kanakapura taluk, will conduct 20-day free compulsory residential training for women in "Fashion design and embroidery" from August 7. Blood donation

The students association of Government Polytechnic for Women will conduct blood donation camp in the college premises on Friday. The camp is being conducted to create awareness about the sanctity and importance of blood donation and to motivate woman donors.

Mobile phone bills

Now you can pay your Airtel mobile phone bills at any of the Bangalore One centres in the city. The mobile service provider has tied up with Bangalore One to launch a new customer service initiative through which Airtel customers can check their dues online. The service was launched by Rajiv Chawla, Secretary, e-Governance, Government of Karnataka here on Wednesday. Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Bharti Airtel, spoke.
