Film awards: Saroja Devi to head jury

The three juries have been asked to submit their recommendations by August 17

NEW DELHI: Actor B. Saroja Devi will head the jury for the feature film section for the 53rd National Film Awards. The jury for the non-feature film section will be headed by filmmaker Siddharth Kak and the one for best writing on cinema will have film critic Khalid Mohammad as its head.

The jury for the feature film section includes actor Seema Biswas, director P. H. Vishwanath, cinematographer B. S. Loganath, actor-producer Anwar Ali and art curator Ina Puri. The non-feature film jury includes audiographer Chinmoya Nath, producer-director Sangeeta Tamuli, and script writer A. B. Tripathi.

Journalists Ratnottama Sengupta and Amitabh Parashar are the other two members on the jury for best writing on cinema.

The three juries have been asked to submit their recommendations by August 17.

This year, the feature film section has attracted 125 entries while the non-feature film section has over 160 films in competition.
