KANNUR : The North Malabar Railway Users' Forum (NMRUF) has urged the Railway authorities to run more special trains in September in view of the heavy rush of passengers during the Onam season. Special rail services from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur and Kannur to Thiruvanathapuram should be introduced on September 1, 2, 8 and 9 and 2, 3, 9 and 10 respectively, it said. The NMRUF general body meeting here also called on the Railway authorities to run special trains from Kannur to Bangalore. It also demanded that more unreserved coaches be attached to Chennai Mail, West Coast Express, Malabar Express, Thiruvananthapuram Express, Parasuram Express and Inter-city Express from August 25 to September 15. A release by the NMRUF said K.P. Sreedharan and P. Natarajan were elected president and general secretary.
