Seminar on disaster management

University Grants Commission and St. Theresa College for Women to hold it

ELURU: A two-day seminar on "Cyclone, earthquake, tsunami and disaster management" will be held here on July 31 and August 1 under the joint auspices of the University Grants Commission and St. Theresa's College for Women.

S. Jeelani, Deputy Secretary, UGC, will inaugurate the seminar while O.S.R. Bhanukumar, Department of Meteorology and Oceanography, Andhra University, K.S.R. Murthy, Deputy Director, National Institute of Oceanography, Regional Centre, Visakhapatnam, N. Purnachandra Rao of the National Geophysics Research Institute, Hyderabad, and Subramanyam, Director, Cyclone Warning Centre, Indian Meteorology Department, Visakhapatnam, will participate in the deliberations, according to P.Subbalakshmi, seminar coordinator.

Many delegates coming

She said 100 delegates from different research organisations and universities were expected to attend the programme.
