UPA Government has failed on all fronts, says BJP

Staff Correspondent

Dismissal of Union Government sought

Madikeri: Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kodagu, on Friday staged a demonstration by beating bells and gongs in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner seeking the dismissal of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre for its alleged failure on all fronts.

The BJP members alleged that terrorist activities were on the rise since the UPA came to power. The prices of essential commodities had shot up since the UPA Government took over. It had plunged the common man into crisis, the members alleged.

The frequent increase in the price of fuel and shortage of liquefied petroleum gas had hit the common man hard, they said.

The agitation was led by Madikeri MLA K.G. Bopaiah. Vice-president of the zilla panchayat B.C.Neelamma, president of the Kodagu BJP unit S.G. Medappa, party spokesman M.B.Devaiah, Yuva Morcha leader Manu Muthappa, district general secretary Sunil Subramani, Krishi Morcha leader Bellu Somaiah, were among those present. Later, a memorandum, addressed to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was handed over to K.N. Lingappa, Headquarters Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner.
