Rajahmundry: YUVA, a newly floated youth organisation with college-going students, held a mega medical and blood donation camp here on Friday. Both boys and girls from 15 colleges in the city attended the camp. YUVA, led by G.V. Sriraj, Sk. Arshad, G.V. Sunder, Sk. Suban Vali, Babu Rao and Sandeep, gathered about 500 students for health check-up. A team of doctors from Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences -- Hemasankar, Jassintha, Twinkle and Akbar - examined students.
Call to youth
Inaugurating the camp, Harsha Kumar, MP, lamented that the present generation lacks leadership qualities. They should actively participate in social activities and awareness programmes, he said. He advised the youth to serve society. Minister for Animal Husbandry Gollapalli Surya Rao, who visited the camp, lauded the youth organisation for their service. He said that students should take active part in extra-curricular activities to have some relaxation from studies. The blood collected at the camp was handed over to the Government hospital and the medical college.
