NEW DELHI: Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury surprised sixth-seeded Dutch Grandmaster Erik van den Doel with the black pieces to stay among the leaders with three points after three rounds of the Dutch Open chess championship at Dieren on Thursday. Chowdhury now shares the lead with the Netherlands' Friso Nijboer and Israel's Alon Greenfeld. Dibyendu Barua, one of the overnight leaders, drew with the fourth-seeded Russian GM Vyacheslav Iknonnikov. The results (involving Indians): Third round: Vyacheslav Ikonnikov (Rus, 2.5) drew with Dibyendu Barua (2.5); Erik van den Doel (Ned, 2) lost to Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury (3); Harmne van den Berg (Ned, 2) bt Saptarshi Roy (1); Roktim Bandyopadhyay (2) bt Maarten Etmans (Ned, 1).
