Centre clears Dummugudem lift scheme

NEW DELHI : The Centre has accorded environmental clearance to the Dummugudem Lift Irrigation Project (Rajiv Sagar) in Khammam District. Announcing this, the Andhra Pradesh Government special representative Ravi Mallu said on Friday that the project involving both lift-cum-gravity canal envisages lifting of 16.17 tmc of water from Godavari from Pamulapally village in Aswapuram Mandal.

He said that the water conductor system connected five storage reservoirs of which three were already there.

Dr. Ravi said that no person would be displaced by this project.
