ALIGARH: Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel were deployed on Friday at the 300-year-old tomb of Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Fayyaz in Atrauli town of the district after two of its minarets were found damaged. The situation had become tense in the town, about 40 km from here, after the discovery of the desecration last night but was diffused when senior district officials rushed there and assured the devotees that the damaged portions would be immediately repaired, police said.
The situation in the town had returned to normal today though an RAF contingent was deployed in the area as a precautionary measure, they said.
