Minister clarifies on government seats in minority colleges

CHENNAI: While 65 per cent of the seats in non-minority educational institutions will be taken over by the Government, only 50 per cent of the seats in minority institutions will be taken over.

Health Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran on Friday made this clarification in the Assembly. The percentage of seats in professional colleges and in the higher education sector that the managements could fill on their own was 35 per cent for non-minority institutions and 50 per cent for minority institutions.
