Elevated Expressway: panel clears six bids

HUDA's final decision likely by August 10


  • Letters to be sent to bidders to attend the opening of financial bids on July 31
  • One agency/bidder to execute the 11.5 km project

    HYDERABAD: The technical committee has cleared the bids submitted by all the six prominent bidders for the Elevated Expressway from Mehdipatnam to International Airport.

    The bids submitted by Gamon India, Punj Loyd, Italian Thai Development, Bangkok, Navyug Engineering, Simplex Infrastructure and IJM Corporation, Malaysia were cleared by the committee, headed by HUDA vice-chairman Jayesh Ranjan, on Friday.

    The other members of the technical committee are HUDA chief engineer and convener Vivek Deshmukh, Engineering Chief (Administration) National Highway, R&B, Nageswar Sastry, Chief General Manager of Hyderabad Growth Corridor Ltd. Jagannath Rao, Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers representative N.S. Murthy and ORR Project Director, Piyush Kumar, a special invitee.

    Undertaking

    All the six bidders will submit an undertaking to abide by conditions and stipulations contained in the Request For Proposal document. Letters would be sent to all the six bidders to attend for the opening of financial bids on July 31, according to Mr. Deshmukh.

    After the opening of financial bids, the proposal submitted by bidder quoting lowest tender would be evaluated by the technical committee and forwarded with its recommendations to the high level committee headed by Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development and comprising Secretaries of Finance, Transport and R&B departments besides the HUDA Vice Chairman.

    Following the decision of high-level committee, a letter of acceptance would be sent to the lowest bidder by HUDA by August 10.

    Mr. Deshmukh said only one agency/bidder would execute the 11.5 km Elevated Expressway project.
