Centenary celebrations of Scouts and Guides

KOCHI:
The centenary celebrations of Scouts and Guides will be held from July 31 this year to August 8, 2007.
District commissioner of the Bharat Scouts and Guides K Venugopal told mediapersons that a house would be constructed for a scout or guide coming from financially poor backgrounds in each district.
Campaigns will be launched to protect the environment, to rush relief to people in distress, give medical help to needy persons, to create awareness about the ill effects of smoking and to ensure communal amity.
Cycle rallies and blood-donation camps will be organised. Each scout/guide has been asked to plant a tree sapling, in connection with the celebrations.
