Medicos seek NHRC intervention
New Delhi:
The issue of delay in withdrawal of ``user charges'' at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was on Friday brought to the notice of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) with a medicos' body seeking its intervention on the matter.
In a letter to NHRC Chairperson A S Anand, the Medicos Forum for Equal Opportunity, a body of pro-quota medicos, said the governing body of AIIMS on July 5 last had decided to withdraw the ``users charges'' slapped on poor patients.
However, the decision was yet to be implemented, the letter said.
The UPA government and the Health Ministry are equally ``culpable'' in this matter, the letter added.- PTI
