THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: From Yes Minister, famous political satire admired by the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, to The Sixth Sense, suspense thriller directed by Manoj Night Shyamalan, the on-going DVD exhibition at the British Library offers a wide array of genres for movie lovers. They include feature films, drama, children's film, cartoons, classic movies, action thrillers, science fiction, nature and wildlife movies. There are over 400 DVD's on display at the exhibition. Nearly 50 of them are humorous and thought provoking titles such as Norman Wisdom, an eponymous feature on one of the world's best loved comedians, Home Alone and Cheaper By The Dozen. The children's category include A Bugs Life, a computer animated movie about ants, Aladdin, Baby's Day Out, Beauty And The Beast, Garfield, Stuart Little, the story of a family whose son happens to be a mouse, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, Jungle Book and Lion King. The action thrillers are John Grisham's legal thriller Runaway Jury, Godzilla, The Alamo, Die Another Day:007 and Pearl Harbour. Films like Titanic, The Lady Vanishes, The Ghost Train, Primary Suspect, Aliens, Kes, Eagle Has Landed, Sleeping With The Enemy and Hyderabad Blues are also part of the exhibition. The bard from Stratford-upon-Avon is represented through his plays such as Macbeth, Romeo And Juliet and Midsummer Night's Dream. The documentary section includes The Private Life Of Plants, Have I Got News For You, Magic Islands and Harbours, World War I and Blues Odyssey: A Journey To Music's Heart and Soul. The week-long exhibition will conclude on August 5. The collections brought from the United Kingdom will be added to the DVD collection of the library after the exhibition. The exhibition is open for public from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. on all working days.
