Reduce halt time

The MMTS facility is convenient, free from pollution and saves money and time.

I take the 7.55 a.m. MMTS train from Lingampally to Kachiguda.

However, everyday I face problems at James Street Railway station, where the train halts for 15 to 20 minutes or more.

I request the Railway authorities to reduce the halt time at James Street.

Flyover must at JBS

Flyovers are being built in several places in the city, but a few areas that really need them are being ignored. Glaring examples are RTC X Roads and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS).

While the former was stalled by some petty politicians to garner votes at the cost of citizens' needs, it is perplexing as to why no serious thought was given to a flyover at the latter junction. JBS is a circular junction with at least seven roads crisscrossing there.

Traffic on these roads includes at least 1,000 city and district buses, whose entry or exit cause traffic jams.

It is an entry point into the city from suburbs and for many residential localities like Picket, Bowenpally, Mudfort, Vikrampuri, Trimulghhery, Alwal, Bolarum, Risala Bazar etc.

Scheme ends abruptly

A few years ago Indian Oil Corporation had introduced a card under `My Shoppe Reward Programme.' One got points on buying petrol/diesel from IOC outlets, which could be redeemed for some prizes. I had taken one such card, which is valid up to 12/2006. The petrol pump from where I take petrol regularly, informed me six weeks ago that the scheme has been wound up.

I did not get any response when I tried to contact IOC. I wrote a letter to local General Manager of Indian Oil Corporation, M.R. Udai Bhasker, after contacting M.R.S. Sreekant of Retails Department.

I hope they will clarify the issue.

Safe drinking water

Flowing water is always purer than stagnant water. Of course, it has to be ensured that the pipes are not subject to contamination. The Water Board has agreed to supply drinking water to Saket Colony in Kapra Municipality the total cost of which is being borne by the residents. However, they are only prepared to give bulk supply and not direct connections to the houses. Bulk supply suffers from three possible contamination points: underground storage tank, distribution through pipelines and domestic storage.
