Journalist dead

Kochi: V.T. George, 49, Deputy News Editor, The New Indian Express (Kochi), died at a private hospital here on Sunday. The funeral will take place at the cemetery of Pathirippadam Catholic Church, near Chungathara, in Malappuram district, at 3 p.m. on Monday. Mr. George began his 21-year-long career in journalism as a sub-editor in an English daily in Hyderabad and went on to work abroad, before returning to the country.
