Two girls die as tank wall collapses

BANGALORE: Two girls, including a one-and-a-half year old child, died when the walls of a temporary water tank fell on them in Ramamurthinagar Police Station limits on Sunday.

The police gave the names of the dead as Ruksana and Geetha (16).

The incident occurred at a construction site.

It is said that over 150 labourers are staying at the construction site and a temporary water tank measuring 10 ft x eight ft with a height of four ft was built for them.

Around 9.30 a.m., the walls of the tank collapsed killing Ruksana and Geetha. Two labourers were injured in the incident, police said.

Ramamurthinagar Police have arrested site engineer Abdul Anees and registered a case of negligence causing death against the construction company.
