Ashok Leyland Q1 sales up 33 p.c.

CHENNAI: Ashok Leyland has registered a 33.2 per cent growth in sales at Rs. 1,641.37 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2006, against Rs. 1,231.91 crore in the corresponding period in 2005-06. . The profit after tax, before extraordinary items, was Rs. 73.02 crore against Rs. 36.70 crore. Extraordinary items accounted for Rs. 27.66 crore in the corresponding period in 2005-06. The net profit, after extraordinary items, was Rs. 69.18 crore against Rs. 64.35 crore.
