Letters to the Editor
The refusal of Jaswant Singh to reveal the name of the "mole" in P.V. Narasimha Rao's PMO is unbecoming of a man who was the Minister for External Affairs. The issue should not be allowed to drag on any further. The matter concerns the nation's security.
S. Nallasivan,
With the Prime Minister categorically stating that Mr. Jaswant Singh's letter does not contain the name of the "mole" who allegedly disclosed the country's nuclear secrets to the U.S. during the Narasimha Rao regime, it appears the latter does not have any credible details to offer. For having misled the nation, Mr. Jaswant Singh should be taken to task.
V.S. Jayaraman,
It is surprising to see an elder statesman such as Mr. Jaswant Singh playing "hide and seek" with the important matters. Such an attitude among public figures must be condemned by all.
V. Seshagiri Sharma,
It beats me why the former Minister kept quiet all this while about such "sensational" information. He will it find it difficult to convince people about the need to mention such an outdated issue in his book. It is probably a marketing strategy to sell his book.
V.P. Damodar,
It is not clear why Mr. Jaswant Singh refused to bring to the notice of the nation the presence of the "mole" in the PMO all this time, especially when the NDA Government was in power. His book should be named "In the disservice of emergent India."
Vinu Nayar,
The only tangible benefit to readers from the issue is the brilliant cartoon in The Hindu of July 29.
R. Sridhar,
