ONGOLE: In a case of murder for gain, a bank manager, Chakka Koteswara Rao, was killed and his wife was grievously injured when robbers broke into their house and attacked them before decamping with some valuables in the early hours here on Monday. According to the police, Mr Rao (45) was working as manager of the State Bank of India at Chinnaganjam branch, while his wife, Padmini (42), is a teacher in Tangutur. They were living alone in their house located on seventh line of Ramanagar here. Their two daughters who are studying B.Tech and son, who is an Intermediate student, are staying away from them. The house is situated at an isolated place by the railway track. Some robbers broke into the house by breaking the door with the help of a crowbar. The servant maid, who saw the couple lying unconscious in a pool of blood at 6 a.m., alerted the neighbours and the police.
