Wisconsin: A marginally improved performance of one-under 69 in the final round saw Arjun Atwal finish a disappointing tied 48th in the $4,800,000 US Bank Championship in Milwaukee here on Sunday. The Orlando-based Indian, who led after the opening round, failed to recover from the third round slump which saw him card a horrendous three-over as he ended his campaign with a four-day total of five-under 275. Meanwhile, Corey Pavin claimed the title by firing a birdie and a superb eagle in his final round card of three-under 67. The American finished with a brilliant 20-under 260.
Kapur finishes tied 22nd
Shiv Kapur broke into the top 100 of the European Tour Order of Merit after firing a five-under 67 to finish tied 22nd with compatriot Jyoti Randhawa, who came up with his best performance of the week, carding a six-under 66 in the final round of the 3.6 million euro Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe.
Sweden's Robert Karlsson took his second title of the year after a 67, which gave him an outstanding 25-under-par total of 263. With his impressive result in Germany, Kapur as a chance to consolidate his position with his impending appearance at the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio, next month.
