BANGALORE: The "CET 2006" admission round seat selection process for Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine (ISM) and Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses will conclude on August 3. The casual vacancy round seat selection process will commence on August 16, according to the schedule notified in the "CET 2006" brochure. The medical seats in the newly sanctioned government medical colleges of Belgaum and Mandya and the newly added/cancelled/forfeited/surrendered/unfilled Medical and Dental seats will be offered only during the medical/dental Causal Vacancy round seat selection process on August 16. On this day, candidates claiming eligibility under physically disabled, NCC, sports special categories and the wards of Jammu and Kashmir migrants can select the available seats. On August 17 and 18, candidates claiming eligibility under various reserved, rural, Kannada-medium and other special categories can take the seats. The candidates coming under general merit and other reserved categories can select the available seats on August 21 and 22. The eligible candidates can verify the seat selection schedule of the Casual Vacancy Round detailed on Page 39 in the "CET 2006" brochure and come for the seat selection process accordingly. The Architecture merit list of all eligible Karnataka candidates who have submitted the photocopy of their 2nd PU/12th standard marks with NATA ID to the CET Cell will be published on Tuesday after 5 p.m. on the CET website, http:kar.nic.in/cet. Candidates can make a note of their ranks and come for the seat selection process for B. Arch seats in private colleges at 4 p.m. on August 3.
Counselling
The PGCET Cell of the Central Postgraduate Admission Committee, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, conducted counselling for PGCET students on Sunday on the university premises for admission to M.E./M. Tech./M. Arch courses (2006-07). Rank holders from PF 0601 to PF 1400 were called for seat selection. During the counselling, 400 PGCET rank students registered for full-time M.E./M. Tech./M. Arch courses. On Tuesday, counselling will be held for candidates with ranks from PF 1401 to the last rank.
