Plea to suspend inspector

Staff Correspondent

HUBLI: Pralhad Joshi, MP from Dharwad North, has urged Home Minister M.P. Prakash to suspend the Inspector of Vidyanagar Police Station in Hubli for allegedly ill-treating a Dalit bank employee and threatening an advocate.

In a letter, Mr. Joshi urged Mr. Prakash to immediately order an inquiry by the Corps of Detectives against Inspector Shivalli and two constables of Vidyanagar Police Station.

Ill-treatment

He alleged that the Inspector had ill-treated Hanumanthappa Bandiwaddar, and threatened the lawyer who had filed a private complaint in the local court on behalf of Mr. Bandiwaddar.
