`55,000 people have been benefited' Chief Minister said labour officers have been deployed to ensure implementation

SHIMLA: Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has announced that after Chamba and Sirmaur three more districts of the hill State -- Kangra, Mandi and Shimla -- will come under the National Employment Guarantee Scheme in the near future.

Speaking at the closing function of the International Minjar Fair in Chamba, he said at least 55,000 people have been benefited under the national rural employment scheme.

He said the Rs.45-crore Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojna and Food for Work Programmes were also being implemented in the districts of Chamba and Sirmaur.

The Chief Minister claimed that his Government would ensure a minimum of 70 per cent employment in all the hydroelectric, industrial and other big projects, at all levels, for the people of the State.

He said labour officers had been deployed in all such areas and projects to ensure implementation of State Government orders.
