JAIPUR: Speakers at a State-level consultation on policy issues relating to unorganised migrant labourers here on Monday called for integrated efforts for rehabilitation of this segment of population and said the benefits of welfare schemes should be extended to them without hassles.
Coordination
The consultation was organised by Grameen Vikas Trust at the Harish Chandra Mathur State Institute of Public Administration here. Former Rajasthan Chief Secretary M.L. Mehta, inaugurating the meet, said the officials of various departments should work in coordination for providing relief to migrant labourers.
Programme
Praising the migrant labour assistance programme launched by Grameen Vikas Trust, Mr. Mehta said the voluntary organisations should extend a helping hand for successful implementation of the drive. Additional Chief Secretary A.K. Pandey suggested that an action plan on the subject be formulated and submitted to the State Government. A presentation on the overview of migration of labourers to cities was also made during the consultation.
