BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday conceded that infrastructure development in Bangalore had not met the expectations of the investors or the public. He made it clear that in the land acquisition process, Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA), which plans to develop 734 km of roads around the city, should not deny farmers a fair deal. He was launching the BMRDA's land survey ahead of developing the Satellite Town Ring Road, the Intermediate Ring Road and Radial Roads. The survey exercise is expected to be completed in four months after which the project can be taken up under the National Highways Development Project Phase VII. Mr. Kumaraswamy, who does not want a replay of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Project in which the Government earned the wrath of the Supreme Court, said there would be no room for misinformation and officials should not give room for any knotty tangle that might cause legal hassles. He wanted the project to be competed in four years and said: "I do not want to hear about any farmer, whose land was taken away and was not adequately compensated."
