Power shutdown

Power supply will be affected from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday in parts of Bhuvaneswari Nagar, parts of Ittamandu, Nandhini Enclave Apartment, Kamakya Revenue Layout, BSK 3rd Stage, 5th Block, 7th Block and surrounding areas owing to maintenance works, according to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company.

Water supply to be hit

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has said that owing to emergency repair work, water supply is likely to be on Tuesday and Sunday in Kathreguppa, Girinagar, Srinivasa Nagar, BSK 3rd Stage and surrounding areas; Domlur, Kodihalli BDA Layout, Nanjareddy Colony, Murugeshpalya, Airport, S.R. Garden and surrounding areas; Ulsoor, Jogupalya, Lingaiahanapalya, `G' Street, Saraswathipura, Bazar Street, Naala area, Indiranagar, part of HAL 2nd Stage and surrounding areas.

Speed Post Gold

The Department of Posts is launching "Speed Post Gold" service from August 1. This is a premium version of Speed Post to provide highly time sensitive communication channel between major cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The articles can be booked before 7 p.m. from select outlets in Bangalore will be delivered before 1 p.m. the next day. The post offices are: Bangalore GPO (ph. 22866772). Property recovered

The Bangalore Development Authority during a demolition drive on Saturday recovered property worth Rs. 65 lakh in site number 207 of Banashankari stage 1. The demolition operation was carried out by the BDA task force along with assistance of the police.

Scholarships

Kumar (treasurer). T. Venkataraju, Kemparamaiah, T.N. Sonnappa Reddy, D. Nagarajappa, H.N. Nagendra, N. Anantha, R.S. Kotekar, N. Satish, G. Rajashekharappa, H.M. Ravindra, B.S. Gangadhar, B.M. Manjunath, Shashidhar, V. Vasanth Kumar and G.S. Somasundar were elected executive committee members.
