Honouring the Chief Khasi



Nalakath Mohammed Koya Bakhavy

Only a few people possess the ability to leave a lasting impression on the lives of others.

The Chief Khasi of Kozhikode, Nalakath Mohammed Koya Bakhavy, is such a noble soul.

For more than half a century, the Khasi has been enriching the socio-cultural and religious lives of the people of Malabar, especially the Muslim community of Kozhikode.

To celebrate the the golden jubilee of his stint, the citizens of Kozhikode, known for their hospitality, will accord a reception to him on the premises of the historical Miskhal Mosque at Kuttichira in the city at 4 p.m. on August 19.

A reception committee with Sayed Fasal Pookoya Thangal as chairman and K.V. Kunahmmed Koya as general convener has been constituted for the purpose.

Minister for Forest and Environment Benoy Viswom will present him with a memento.

P.K.S. Raja, scion of the Zamorin family, erstwhile rulers of Calicut, will honour him with a ponnada.

Mayor M. Bhaskaran will release a book on the occasion.

M.P. Veerendrakumar, MP; P.M.A. Salam, MLA; and the former Ministers P.K. Kunhalikutty and K. Muraleedharan will take part in the felicitation programme.
