Bank staff plea to Central Government

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Confederation of Bank Employees has urged the Central Government to direct the banks to conduct their recruitments in an equitable manner, following reservation principles.

The State general secretary of the Confederation K. Rajakurup said that the High Court had stayed the attempt of the State Bank of India to select probationary officers through campus recruitments from three colleges in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi alone. The stay was issued as a public sector undertaking was required to follow the Constitutional principle of equality of opportunities in appointments.
