PNB posts marginal increase in profits

NEW DELHI: Punjab National Bank on Monday posted a marginal increase in net profit at Rs. 367.52 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as compared to Rs. 358.16 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year. But it reported a drop in operating profit from Rs. 644.51 crore in Q1 of 2005 to Rs. 490.56 crore in the same quarter of the current fiscal.
