Staff Reporter

GUNTUR : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited on Tuesday introduced a scheme in Guntur district to waive installation charges of Rs.500 for all customers who book for a landline connection till August 31. Those who have already applied for new basic phone but not had phones installed would get the benefit, the General Manager M.S.R. Sarma said.

Single window system

BSNL introduced `single window' system at its Chandramoulinagar Customer Service Centre in Guntur, which will provide all telephone related services at one counter. Mr. Sarma said this facility would be extended to other centres soon through which a person can apply for connection, get the demand note, make payment, get receipt and the also issue advice note for new connections. These counters would handle all transactions related to existing connections. Providing Telephone Plus services, closure of connection, and safe custody would be initially handled with regard to working telephones.
