Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal and south interior Karnataka at many places over Kerala and at a few places over Rayalaseema, Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Gerusoppa (Uttara Kannada dt.) and Lakkavalli (Chikmagalur dt.) recorded heavy rainfall of 12 and 7 cms respectively.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Honavar, Kollur (Udupi dt.), Londa (Belgaum dt.) and Thirthahalli (Shimoga dt.) 4 each, Kottayam, Karwar, Mani and Subramanya (both Dakshina Kannada dt.), Kundapura (Udupi dt.), Sirsi and Yellapura (both Uttara Kannada dt.) 3 each, Kozhikode, Mangalore Airport, Belthangadi and Dharmasthala (both Dakshina Kannada dt.), Sandur (Bellary dt.) and Jayapura (Chikmagalur dt.) 2 each.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal and south interior Karnataka, at many places over north interior Karnataka, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh and at a few places over Rayalaseema, Telangana and Lakshadweep.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
