Vinodh, Pawan make merry

Bangalore: S. Vinodh's unbeaten 200 and Pawan Gaargi's 134 were the highlights as President's XI posted 478 for two in reply to Bangalore City's 295 in a S.A. Srinivasan Memorial inter-Zonal under-22 cricket tournament match that concluded in a draw here on Tuesday.

President's XI, along with Mysore Zone, Combined City XI and Bangalore Zone, qualified for the semifinals scheduled on Aug. 3 and 4.

The scores: Bangalore City 295 in 84 overs drew with President's XI 478 for two in 90 overs (S. Vinodh 200 not out, Pawan Gaargi 134, Shoaib Manager 91 not out).

Bangalore Zone 348 for six in 90 overs and 74 for one in 11 overs drew with Shimoga Zone 312 in 77 overs (C.K. Akshay 143, M. Nidhish 76, Arjun Shetty four for 66).

Mangalore Zone 229 in 50.4 overs and 251for six in 46 overs (Santosh Kamath 100 not out, Vilton Crasto 43, Girish four for 65) drew with Tumkur Zone 144 in 31.1 overs and 251 for nine in 44 overs (Punith 91, Vilton Crasto five for 80, Umesh Karvi four for 61).

Raichur Zone 256 in 76.2 overs and 109 for two in 30 overs (Raj Kumar 55 not out) drew with Dharwad Zone 209 in 66.3 overs (Ramling Patil 64).
