New Delhi: In continuation with its policy of reviving Indian football, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has allowed clubs to recruit one Player of Indian Origin (PIO), apart from three foreigners for the National League. The AIFF Executive Committee, which met here last week, also decided that the clubs can recruit two foreigners and one PIO for the Domestic League. Teams would be allowed to play three foreigners in the Durand Trophy and IFA Shield, it was decided. The Executive Committee, meanwhile, didn't take a final decision about Jammu and Kashmir holding this year's Santosh Trophy. The AIFF president, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, will meet the Jammu and Kashmir Government officials to discuss various matters concerning the infrastructure to conduct the 61st National championship in Srinagar. The Executive Committee also announced that the Federation Cup would be held in Kolkata from Dec. 17 to 30, while the 11th National Football League will commence from Jan. 5, 2007. The meeting also decided that the AFC Asia Cup qualifying match against Saudi Arabia would be played in Kolkata on Aug.16, while the match against Japan will be played in Bangalore on Oct. 11. Regarding Tata Football Academy's participation in the NFL, Dasmunsi would meet the Tata Steel officials to finalise the issue. The Committee also approved the AIFF Code of Ethics in the meeting. UNI
