Applications invited from social workers

COIMBATORE: The Department of Social Defence has invited applications from social workers residing in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris districts for posts in the Child Welfare Committee, Coimbatore district.

According to an official release, the committee is to be reconstituted under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000. The applicants should possess special knowledge in child psychology and child welfare and should have a degree in any one of the social sciences such as psychology, criminology, sociology, social work, economics, home science, education, political science, women's studies, rural studies, law or medicine. They should also have been engaged in health education or other Rehabilitative and Welfare Activities pertaining to children for at least seven years. They should be aged between 35 and 65.
