Kanchipuram restricts Madurai
MADURAI: Fine bowling by medium pacer Ambrish Rangan and off-spinner Suresh Kumar, who claimed four wickets each for 26 and 54 runs respectively, helped Kanchipuram restrict host Madurai for 172 runs and then score 104 runs for three wickets at close of play on the opening day of the two-day semifinal match in the TNCA inter-district under-22 cricket tournament at Madura College ground here on Tuesday.
The scores: Madurai 172 in 55.1 overs (Sethuraman 71, Robert Vinay Raina 62, Ambrish Rangan four for 26, Sureshkumar four for 54) vs Kanchipuram 104 for three in 34 overs (Jai Ganesh 39 not out, Varunkumar 33). — Sports Correspondent
