MAKE USE OF IT: Narikoravas selling their products at the Tirunelveli Collectorate. Photo: A. Shaikmohideen
The narikoravas selling their `oosi, paasi' ware at the Tirunelveli Junction bus stand have submitted a petition to Collector G. Prakash and the Deputy Mayor Viswanatha Pandian that they were being chased away by the law-enforcers, preventing from selling their products at the old bus stand. "Apart from pouring a bucketful of water on me, they also damaged four new plastic cars I had displayed for sale on the platform. As selling of my products is being affected, I can't feed my children. So please save us from this harassment," wept a lady after submitting a petition to the Collector on Monday. Later they started selling their products to people who had come to the Collectorate in large numbers to submit petition to Mr. Prakash.
