GULBARGA: A team of doctors from the Accident Relief Care (ARC) centre and the local Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College on Tuesday began a three-day free medical camp in different parts of Jewargi taluk to detect and provide treatment to people affected by chikungunya. The team of seven doctors led by Ajay Singh, son of former Chief Minister and Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly, held the camp at Jewargi and Andola.
Free medicines
Thousand of patients underwent check-ups in the medical camps and those diagnosed were provided medicines free of cost. More serious cases were referred to the government hospital at Jewargi and Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital in Gulbarga city for treatment. Dr. Singh said the check-up camp would be held at Ijeri and Yedrami villages on Wednesday and on the concluding day at Nelogi and Ankalga villages.
