KURNOOL: An unidentified person threw acid on a post graduate medico, Govind, near Vinayak ghat in the city on Tuesday. He suffered serious burns in the face and suffered serious eye injury. According to reports, Dr Govind, who was doing his MD in General Medicine was going on a bike after dropping his gynaecologist wife Sujatha, when a stranger stopped him on the pretext of enquiring about an address. When he was examining the address slip, the assailant poured acid in the face, which he had brought in a can. Dr. Govind was rushed to the hospital. After he was examined by ophthalmologists, he was shifted to LV Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad for treatment. The police are investigating.
