Two arrested, two weapons seized

MANGALORE: The district anti-rowdy squad on Monday arrested two associates of an alleged underworld don Bannanje Raja from Kavoor and seized a loaded revolver and a pistol from them. The accused are Suresh Kumar (35) of Kamblakatta, Kodavoor village in Udupi, and Srinivas alias Sheena (41) of Thodlagudde, Kavoor, in Mangalore taluk, a press release from B. Dayananda, Superintendent of Police stated here.

The squad while on routine patrolling at Kavoor saw Suresh, talking with Srinivas on a footpath, with a motorcycle parked nearby. On seeing the police they attempted to flee, but were caught by the squad personnel. The police recovered a loaded imported pistol from Suresh and another loaded imported revolver from Srinivas.

They were arrested and the weapons along with 11 live rounds, two mobile phones and the motorcycle seized from them. They were handed over to Kavoor Police Station for further legal action. The accused were involved in various cases, the release added.
