Tailors stage `rasta roko'

UDUPI: Udupi unit of the Karnataka State Tailors Association took out a procession and staged a "rasta roko" seeking the fulfilment of its various demands, here on Tuesday.

The procession, which began from the Board School, culminated at the Hanuman Circle, where they staged a "rasta roko." A large number of members of the Association were taken into custody by the police and later released.

The demands of the Association include the formation of a welfare fund for tailors, relief for tailors who meet with an accident, and pension for retired tailors.
