YSR's assurance to protect Sultan-ul-Uloom society's land

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has given assurance that the land of Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society at Banjara Hills would be protected. A delegation which met Dr. Reddy brought to his notice the attempt to take over a portion of the land at Banjara Hills. Khan Lateef Mohd Khan, Chairman of the Society, said that a few persons tried to take over a portion of the land, but their attempt was thwarted with the intervention of the Home Minister.

He said the Society bought the piece of land from Nizam Trust in 1980 and the ULC Special Officer approved the transfer in August 1982. Mr. Khan also sought action against the Punjagutta Inspector for his alleged connivance with the group involved in the incident.
