Chambakkara boat race on August 27

KOCHI: The Chambakkara boat race will be organised on August 27. Karichal, Chambakkulam, Jawahar Thayankari, Sri Ganesh and other snakeboats will participate in the race, according to the Eroor-Pereekkad Boat Club, the organisers. Colouful pageant of kathakali, theyyam and floats will add glitter to the boat race. Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the race. Fisheries Minister S. Sarma will give away prizes to the winners. Those interested should register before August 15.
