KOCHI: The pre-paid customers of the mobile network of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will also be able to avail of the 10-paise call rate scheme to either two BSNL landlines or a combination of a BSNL landline and BSNL mobile or WLL. The facility will be activated for the Excel customers by sending SMS to the number 3733. The message has to be given in the format: FFE{lt}space{gt}landline number with STD code{lt}space{gt}mobile/landline number with STD code. The post-paid customers would also be provided a facility through SMS, later. BSNL had resorted to SMS to avoid the huge rush of customers at the BSNL offices. Large crowds had gathered since the scheme was introduced last week to post-paid customers. The new post-paid plan introduced from Tuesday for post-paid customers will have the facility of free calls to all BSNL mobiles or WLL in Kerala Circle.
Call rate to landline
The calls to landline numbers within the circle would cost 40 paise a minute. The scheme also allows calls to other network mobiles and fixed lines at 40 paise per minute. STD in BSNL network would cost 40 paise to mobiles and Rs.1.50 to fixed lines, whereas it would cost Rs.1.50 to mobiles and fixed lines in other networks. ISD charges to the U.S. Canada and the U.K. would be Rs.6 while it would cost Rs.8 to the European countries (other than the U.K.), Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong. To rest of the world, it would cost Rs.10. SMS (maximum 160 characters) within the circle would be free of charge, while it would cost 40 paise to send a message outside the circle.
