12 persons arrested
The Petbasheerabad police on Tuesday arrested 12 persons, including Adireddy Bal Reddy who lost the panchayat elections, in connection with the attack on residents of Prajay Syndicate colony at Kompally two days ago.
Couple `commits' suicide
A businessman J. Srinivasa Rao, 57, and his wife J. Suguna, 55, allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a running train near Jamai Osmania station on Tuesday, said the Kachiguda railway police . No suicide note was found. The victims were residents of Vasavinagar in Karkhana area.
Bomb hoax
Two hoax bomb calls kept the police on tenterhooks on Tuesday. A person called up Sai Bhavani super speciality hospital in Jeedimetla around 8.40 a.m. saying a bomb would explode there any time. In another incident, an anonymous person called up the office landline phone of Joint Transport Commissioner at Tolichowki saying the office would be blown up. However, both turned out to be hoax calls.
