Grievances meeting

The Superintending Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Coimbatore South, will conduct a grievances meeting on August 2 at the office of the executive engineer, Kuniamuthur, at 11 a.m.

Demonstration

Bank employees staged a demonstration in front of Lord Krishna Bank, Tatabad, here on Tuesday. They were responding to a call by the Lord Krishna Bank Employees' Union, affiliated to the All India Bank Emplo yees' Association. Their demands include recruitment of staff and providing promotions to sub-staff.

Seized

TIRUPUR: The Food Cell officials on Tuesday seized a lorry laden with 210 bags of rice meant for supply through public distribution system, on its way to Kerala. The officials said the police intercepted the lorry at Veerappa Goundanur, near Negamam. The driver and owner of the lorry were arrested.
