KOLKATA: A brace of second-half goals enabled East Bengal down George Telegraph 2-0 in a Kolkata Football League premier division match here on Wednesday. In the 70th minute, George Telegraph conceded an unexpected goal when a 22-yard drive of East Bengal skipper Alvito D'Cunha bounced awkwardly in front of the goalkeeper and skidded into the net. The propitious strike meant East Bengal could breathe a little easy as its Brazilian coach brought in Ashim Biswas as a substitute in place of his captain three minutes later. Biswas, turning out for East Bengal for the first time in his career, shot home a right-footer in the 76th minute after Vincent Pires' flag-kick from right produced a melee in front of the George goalmouth, thus sending the crowd into delirious celebrations.
