MANGALORE: The district administration has decided to set up a broad-based, district-level core committee to accord a grand reception to the `Suvarna Karnataka Samskruthi Dibbana' in Dakshina Kannada. This follows a decision by the State Government to take out the `Samskruthi Dibbana' to mark 50 years of the formation of the State. Cultural programmes will be organised as part of the procession. Chairing a preliminary meeting in this regard here on Wednesday, A.M. Kunjappa, chief executive officer, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, said the procession would enter the district at Mulki and reach Moodbidri via Kateel, where the authorities, elected representatives and others would receive it in a befitting manner on October 13. The procession would visit different parts of the district until October 22, he said. Revenue authorities in charge of taluks and the respective subdivisions would make arrangements to ensure the success of the event. Besides, the language academies based here and other cultural organisations too would join hands with the authorities to celebrate the event in a grand manner.
