AUT UNIVERSITY of New Zealand and Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM), a leading business school in India, have announced admissions for 2006-07. AUT and IFIM together will offer an 18-month MBA programme for working professionals in Bangalore. The MBA degree will be awarded by AUT. This degree offered by AUT is internationally recognised. The MBA programme is offered over eight terms of eight weeks each, each term comprising three courses. The three courses will be taught over three consecutive weeks and require attendance at 18 hours of classes each week. Following delivery of the three consecutive courses, students will have five weeks of self-directed study time in which to complete all course work, assignments and preparations for examinations. Every year, there are six different intakes. This means one can commence at a number of points throughout the year. Faculties from AUT and IFIM will teach the course. The learning will be based on real industry examples. A Business Advisory Committee made up of respected business leaders and experts will monitor international trends to ensure that curriculum remains up to date. The MBA applicants should have a degree, a postgraduate diploma or a professional qualification in the relevant discipline. And the applicant should have a minimum of three years relevant work experience after completing their last qualification. Applicants to whom English is a second language must have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6 in each. Global MBA
A ONE-YEAR joint international MBA Programme, being delivered by ESCPAU-France and MATS School of Business and IT, Bangalore, was launched on the MATS campus here recently. The Global MBA course, the first ever offered by a business school of France in India, has been designed jointly by ESCPAU and MATS. ESCPAU is a member of the Conference des Grandes Ecoles, an association which promotes the Grandes Ecoles system in the French higher education and industrial community.
OHIO-Christ Academy
THE OHIO University-Christ College Academy for Management Education was launched on Saturday at Christ College. A leadership conclave, "Abhigyan 2006", ('Abhigyan' meaning direct perception aided by prior knowledge), a platform to nurture future leaders, where personalities from different sectors shared their views on thought leadership. Glenn E Corlette, Dean, College of Business, Ohio University, and Rev. Thomas C. Mathew, Principal of Christ College, inaugurated the programme. The event saw six eminent personalities from different sectors speak. K Dinesh, co-founder and member of the board, Infosys Technologies Ltd; Harish Bijoor, CEO, Harish Bijoor Consultants Inc; K. Ullas Karanth, Director, Wildlife Conservation Society - India; Kishore Phadke, Executive Member, Asian Society of Paediatric Nephrology Association, Singapore; Anilesh Seth, CEO and Member of the Board of Qatalys Software Technologies; and Nandkumar Dhekne, President and CEO, GE Energy - South Asia; spoke.
